Accessibility
I want this site to work for everyone, whatever device, browser or assistive technology you use.
Tips for using this site
- The site opens in the same light or dark look as your device. Switch any time with the sun or moon button at the top of the page.
- Change the language with the globe button next to it. Each page has the same content in six languages.
- Make text bigger with Ctrl and + (Cmd and + on a Mac). The page rearranges itself so nothing is cut off.
- Press Tab to move through links and buttons. The first stop lets you skip straight to the main content.
- Open a photo to see it larger. Use the arrow keys or swipe to see the next one, and Esc to close.
Standard
The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What is in place
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “skip to content” link.
- Pages use proper headings and landmarks, images have text alternatives, and screen readers are told when a link opens a new tab or a file.
- Animations are switched off when your system asks for reduced motion, and nothing plays automatically.
- Text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 in both the dark and the light theme, and the site adapts to high-contrast modes.
- Text can be enlarged to 200%, and the layout adapts down to a width of 320 pixels without horizontal scrolling.
- The site is available in six languages, and the language of each page, and of English titles inside translated pages, is marked for assistive technology.
Known limitations
- Titles of papers, talks and standards documents are kept in their original language, usually English.
- The CV is a PDF in English, Spanish and Catalan. It is tagged for screen readers, but a PDF is never as flexible as a web page.
- Linked sites such as publishers, LinkedIn or GitHub are outside my control.
How it is tested
Every page is checked automatically with axe-core whenever the site is updated, and keyboard use is checked by hand.
