Loterómetro

Every Lotería Nacional draw announced in Spain's official gazette, the BOE, from 1960 to 2011: when it was held, what kind of draw it was, its prize programme and, up to 1991, the first prize as printed in the official list of winning numbers.

      How it works

      Source

Every draw comes from the BOE: until early 2011 the lottery published there the prize programme of each draw and, until 1991, the official list of winning numbers. Each draw links to its notices. Since 2011 the Lotería Nacional no longer publishes them in the BOE, so the catalogue stops there.

      Programme

From 1995 the BOE has the text of each programme, and the series, tickets, price, tenths and prize money are read from it. Earlier programmes only exist as scanned pages and are linked as they are.

      First prize

Up to 1991 the first prize is read from the text layer of the scanned official list, which often has reading errors. A number is only shown when the same list confirms it: the two approximations are the number before and after it, the hundred it belongs to, or the endings of the smaller prizes. Where it cannot be confirmed, the draw links to the scan instead.

      Kinds of draw

Ordinary, Thursday, extraordinary, special, Zodíaco and «Los Millones» draws, as the BOE calls them. The Christmas draw is the one held on 22 December, or on the nearest day when the 22nd is a Sunday; El Niño is the one held on 5 or 6 January.

      Money

Amounts are shown in the currency of the time: pesetas until 2001 and euros from 2002.

      Rights

The BOE's texts can be reused citing the source. The tickets' artwork belongs to Loterías y Apuestas del Estado and its artists, so no ticket images are shown; for them, see the collectors' archives such as the Rincón del Coleccionista.
