- General election
Politicómetro
What each party proposes for Spain's general election of 29 November, topic by topic and word for word. Every proposal is copied literally from the official document, with a link to its page, so they can be read side by side without summaries or interpretation.
Comparison
topics by partiesNo party document has been added yet. When a party publishes its programme on its official website, its proposals will appear in this table, copied as they are and sorted by topic. Open a topic to see what will be compared.

status of each documentHow it works
Official documents only
The source is the electoral programme each party publishes on its own website. If a party first publishes a shorter document of commitments, it is added too, saying what it is. Press summaries, talking points and statements are not used.
Word for word
Every proposal is copied as it is, in Spanish, with its page number and a link to the document. Before it is published, an automatic check makes sure the text appears exactly like that in the document.
Sorted by topic
Proposals are sorted into 18 topics and 76 subtopics from the section headings of the document and from keywords. A proposal can appear under more than one topic.
Coverage
A subtopic gets a ✓ when the party says something about it, so you can see what each party talks about and what it leaves out.
Concreteness
Each proposal is marked when it gives a figure (a quantity, a percentage or an amount), sets a deadline or a calendar, or names a law to create or change. It measures how much a party commits to, not whether the proposal is good.
No ratings
The Politicómetro does not score the parties, summarise or give opinions: it only puts each party's proposals on the same issue side by side. The figures for each party count proposals; they do not judge them.
Parties
Twelve national and regional parties present in the Congress or in the polls. Frente Amplio is the coalition of IU, Movimiento Sumar, Comuns, Más Madrid and others.
Rights
The documents belong to their parties. Short passages are quoted here for analysis and comparison, always with their source and page, as Spain's quotation right allows (article 32 of the Intellectual Property Act).
